The current storage and insurance cost is £150 per cask per year, subject to annual increase plus a one-off account opening fee of £150. This will be arranged directly with the warehouse.
Please note:
Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received and cleared by PWA. Funds will be held by PWA until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to ensure we protect the buyer's transaction.
Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling, if applicable.
Non-UK buyers must appoint a duty representative to act on his/her behalf for transfer of ownership of the cask. The duty representative will need to be registered with HMRC and will normally charge an annual fee for the service.
Please note if the new owner is a UK revenue trader (business), they will need to be registered with HMRC and hold a WOWGR certificate.
Distillery Information
Annandale Distillery was established in 1836 by George Donald, an excise officer who named the site after the valley it sits in just 15 minutes from the English border.
Their key expressions are a peated whisky named Man O'Sword (after King Robert the Bruce) and an unpeated whisky named Man O'Words (after the infamous Robert Burns).
Important Notice
All items are carefully inspected and any marks or damage are noted within the lot description. We do however strongly recommend that you undertake a thorough close-up inspection prior to placing any bids. If you are not satisfied with the information shown and would like more details, please contact us on [email protected] and our team will be happy to help. It is also important to note that lots will be sold as seen and described.
It is important to note that should an outer box be provided, it will be photographed and shown regardless of the condition. If there is not an image of an outer box, this means it is absent and will not be provided.
All lots can have insurance against breakage or loss during transit added at an additional cost. This is available to add at the checkout at a cost of 4% of the hammer price. Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of the liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against leakage in transit.
