Bottle Description

An incredibly rare 1955 Bowmore decanter. This exceptional ceramic decanter was specially bottled for the opening of the new Bowmore visitor centre on 12th September 1974.

These decanters, which were given to staff at the time, are extremely sought after and highly collectable as very few of them are still in existence.

Adding to this already scarce bottling, this has also been signed by iconic Tim Morrison.

There is not stated volume or ABV on this bottle, however we estimate this at 37.5cl.

Founded in 1779 by David Simpson, Bowmore is the oldest Islay distillery. In addition to this, it has the oldest existing warehouse in Scotland which is located below sea level. Recent collectable releases include their Vintner's Trilogy and a colloraboration with luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin.

Important Notice

All items are carefully inspected and any marks or damage are noted within the lot description. We do however strongly recommend that you undertake a thorough close-up inspection prior to placing any bids. If you are not satisfied with the information shown and would like more details, please contact us on [email protected] and our team will be happy to help. It is also important to note that lots will be sold as seen and described.

It is important to note that should an outer box be provided, it will be photographed and shown regardless of the condition. If there is not an image of an outer box, this means it is absent and will not be provided.

All lots can have insurance against breakage or loss during transit added at an additional cost. This is available to add at the checkout at a cost of 4% of the hammer price. Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of the liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against leakage in transit.
